High-Voltage Electrostatic Fields Adversely Affect the Performance of Diamondback Moths over Five Consecutive Generations

چکیده

Changing electrical environments can influence the performance of herbivorous insects and adversely affect their control strategies. The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.), is a pest that devastates cruciferous vegetables. An age–stage, two-sex life table P. over multiple generations was established to describe effect varying high-voltage electrostatic field (HVEF) exposure on after age-cohort eggs were exposed HVEF at an intensity 5.0 kV/cm for different durations. results show direct affected population dynamics parameters generations. In particular, net reproduction rate, intrinsic natural increase finite rate significantly decreased in third fifth under 10 min, while mean generation time doubling increased. Similarly, min rapidly reduced survival adult first generation, subsequently, it declined evenly slowly. Meanwhile, fecundity revealed had strongest inhibition five consecutive addition, increased superoxide dismutase activity produce extra hydrogen peroxide; however, catalase peroxidase or triggered accumulation malondialdehyde instar xylostella, especially treatment. present findings provide experimental evidence theoretical basis developing strategies new environments.

Familial mirror movements over five generations.

Sir, Familial mirror movement (MM) is a rare condition and refers to involuntary movements that occur in homologous contralateral muscles during their voluntary (active) movement and are often observed in the upper extremities but rarely in lower extremities. The case study in question is a large Persian-speaking family from the Isfahan province in the Southeast of Iran with MMs over five gener...

Two Consecutive Generations

Received for publication 11 May 1979 and in revisedform 2 October 1979. 592 50% penetrant autosomal recessive model between the two types of families is compatible with a genetic dissimilarity between them. The high frequency ofthe Dw3 and Dw4 antigens, the Dw3/Dw4 genotype, and the decreased frequency of Dw2, however, indicate the existence of two or more important diabetic genetic factors ass...

The arithmetic of consecutive polynomial sequences over finite fields

Motivated by a question of van der Poorten about the existence of infinite chain of prime numbers (with respect to some base), in this paper we advance the study of sequences of consecutive polynomials whose coefficients are chosen consecutively from a sequence in a finite field of odd prime characteristic. We study the arithmetic of such sequences, including bounds for the largest degree of ir...
